Remembrance day 2015, Lest we forget.

Many Scottings have served in the armed forces here we remember those who fell in the First and Second World Wars.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them.

John William Scotting from Littleport in Cambridgeshire died 08/05/1915 aged 34 at Ypres in Belgium. He was a Private in the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry.

Wilfred Henry Scotting from Bury in Lancashire died 09/05/1915 aged 23 at Gallipoli in Turkey. He was a Private in the Lancashire Fussiliers.

Frederick William Scotting  from Bury in Lancashire died 28/04/1917 aged 20 at Savy in France. He was a Private in the Royal Warwickshire Regiment.

Robert Scotting,died 17/07/1917 aged 34 at Arras France. He was a Private in the Queen’s Own (Royal West Kent Regiment).

James Thomas Scotting from West Ham died on 21/06/1942 aged 22 at Alamein in North Africa. He was a Gunner in the Royal Artillery.

Mervyn Russell Scotting  died on 27/07/1942 aged 26 at El Alamein in North Africa. He was a Gunner in the Royal Australian Artillery.
