James Thomas Scotting 1920-1942

James died on 21st June 1942 serving as part of a heavy anti aircraft battery in the Royal Artillery. The date is an inauspicious one in the history of the World War II as it marks the fall of Tobruk.

James was born in Silvertown, Essex, England and his parents James and Ellen Emma lived there at the time of his death.

James was in 282 battery, 88 H.A.A. (Heavy Anti Aircraft), Royal Artillery. Which is listed as one of those captured by the Axis forces on 21st June 1942 when Tobruk fell. Sadly James must have been killed.

A 3.7-inch HAA gun in the Western Desert, 1941.

He is commemorated on the Alamein memorial.
