Sadly we do have the names of those who died.
John William Scotting (1881-1915)
Born in Littleport. Related to the Doncaster branch of the family. Served in the Boer War. Emigrated to Canada. Died at Ypres fighting with the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry.
Wilfred Henry Scotting 1893-1915
Born in Bury Lancashire. The first of two brothers from the same family to die. Died at Gallipoli.
Frederick William Scotting (1897-1917)
Born in Bury Lancashire. Younger brother of Wilfred Henry. Died two years after him in France.
Born in Cambridgeshire, he died 17/07/1917 aged 34 at Arras France. He was a Private in the Queen’s Own (Royal West Kent Regiment).
